Abstract

The invention provides a DNS configuration recovery method and device, and the method comprises the steps: detecting whether local equipment is connected to a VPN (virtual private network) or not according to a preset time period; detecting whether first domain name system DNS server information is stored locally or not if the local equipment is not connected to the VPN, wherein a first DNS server is a DNS server used when the local equipment is not connected to the VPN; updating the current DNS configuration into first DNS server information from second DNS server information if the first DNS server information is stored locally, wherein a second DNS server is a DNS server used when the local equipment is not connected to the VPN. According to the technical scheme of the invention, the method can guarantee the normal network connection when network equipment is disconnected from the VPN because of abnormality.
