Abstract

A principle component of the drug is Tanshinone IIA. Due to the in-vitro experiments for inhibiting growth of human neuroastrocytoma U251 and rat neuroastrocytoma C6, after the Tanshinone IIA acts on U-118MG cells, the survival rate of the U-118MG cells is gradually reduced along with increase of the concentration of the Tanshinone IIA and the prolonged action time. After the action time of the Tanshinone IIA reaches 48 hours, expression of Caspase 3 mRNA and proteins in the U-118MG cells is higher than that of negative control; the apoptosis rates of Tanshinone IIA groups with the concentrations of 10uM, 30uM and 100uM are respectively (9.8+/-1.8)%, (16.5+/-2.1)% and (23.2+/-2.8)% and are all higher than (2.8+/-1.1)% (P is less than 0.05) in the negative control. The experiments prove that the Tanshinone IIA serving as the human neuroastrocytoma resistant drug has clear effects and has an excellent effect of inhibiting the human neuroastrocytoma.
