[0028] Bilberry, also known as lingonberry, is a collective name for a variety of dwarf deciduous shrubs of the genus Vaccinium in the Rhododendron family with blue-black or blue-purple berries, mainly distributed in Europe, North America (the United States and Canada) and North Asia. The berries of bilberry are produced in summer and autumn. Bilberry is rich in various bioflavonoids, including Anthocyanidi...

Abstract

The present invention provides a method for protecting and repairing mitochondria, which comprises the steps of providing a cell extractant containing the mountain mulberry extract of anthocyanin for increasing the ability of a plurality of mitochondria in a cell to perform oxidative phosphorylation to synthesize the glycoside triphosphate. The method for protecting and repairing mitochondria provided by the present invention provides that the mulberry seed extract can protect and repair the inner membrane of mitochondria in order to delay the disintegration of the mitochondria, thereby mitigating the mitochondrial collapse-triggered apoptosis speed.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for protecting and repairing mitochondria, in particular to a method for protecting and repairing mitochondria by using bilberry extract. Background technique [0002] Mitochondria is the main site for oxidative phosphorylation and synthesis of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in cells. Since adenosine triphosphate is the energy source for cellular activities, mitochondria are also known as cellular energy factories. In addition to providing energy for cells, mitochondria are also involved in processes such as cell differentiation, cell information transmission, and cell apoptosis, and have the ability to regulate cell growth cycles. [0003] However, some of the by-products produced by mitochondria during oxidative phosphorylation are harmful to the inner mitochondrial membrane. Accumulated over time, severely damaged mitochondrial inner membranes will trigger mitochondrial disintegration, which in turn triggers apoptos...
