The head portrait cover recognizing method includes collecting video images when ATM terminal users insert bank cards; performing dimensionality reduction through DWT (discrete wavelet transform), and extracting main information of images subjected to dimensionality reduction through DCT (discrete cosine transform); extracting global features of the images according to a PCA (principal component analysis) method; performing classification according to an RVM (relevance vector machine) face recognition algorithm based on an improved multiple-classifier model; recognizing head portrait covers of output results by an Adaboost classifier for three covers; returning recognition results to the ATM terminals via special networks, and determining whether or not the users are allowed to operate by the ATM terminals.
