Embodiment Construction

[0013] While the invention may be embodied in various forms, there are some exemplary and non-limiting embodiments shown in the drawings and described below, it being understood that this disclosure is considered illustrative of the invention , and is not intended to limit the invention to the particular embodiments shown.

[0014] Some people, such as children, may have difficulty picking out a particular vehicle from an area where vehicles are congregated. Furthermore, some people often leave all their belongings in the vehicle, and therefore, it is desirable to facilitate access to the vehicle in various situations. As described below, the vehicle includes light panels arranged to be seen from a distance. For example, the light panels may be attached to or embedded in a roof rack on the roof of the vehicle. Individuals carry wireless network enabled devices such as mobile devices (eg, smart phones, smart watches, tablets, portable gaming systems, etc.) or tracking tags. ...

Abstract

Apparatus and methods are disclosed for mobile device tracking for control of vehicle subsystems. An example disclosed vehicle includes light panels embedded in the vehicle, wireless nodes, and an auxiliary body control module. The example auxiliary body control module, when a speed of the vehicle is less than a threshold speed, monitors a distance between a wireless device and the vehicle. In response to the distance satisfying a range threshold, the auxiliary body control module activates the light panels.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates generally to wireless interactions between vehicles and mobile devices, and more particularly, to mobile device tracking for controlling vehicle subsystems. Background technique [0002] In locations where a large number of vehicles are stopped, it may be difficult to visually identify any one particular vehicle. For example, after school, the vehicle may be parked in front of the school. Another example is a car parked in a crowded parking lot. An audible alarm alone may not be enough to identify the vehicle. Contents of the invention [0003] The appended claims define the application. This disclosure summarizes aspects of the embodiments and should not be used to limit the claims. Other implementations are contemplated in light of the technology described herein, as will become apparent to those skilled in the art upon examination of the following figures and detailed description, and are intended to be included w...
