Abstract

Mobile decontamination units and methods of using such units to decontaminate various areas, such as aircraft cabins, are provided. The mobile decontamination unit comprises at least one aerosol dispersing nozzle and at least one aerosol guiding fan. Nozzles disperse the disinfectant as an aerosol, and the fan directs the aerosol onto the surface being decontaminated. Aerosol dispersion parameters, such as nozzle and fan orientation, dispersion rate, fan speed, etc., are determined based on area characteristics. In particular, the orientation, temperature, humidity and / or other similar properties of the different surfaces may be taken into account.
