Abstract

The invention discloses a method for studying an information processing mechanism from an RGC (Retinal Ganglion Cell) to an OT (Optic Tecturn) of a homing pigeon and belongs to the field of biomedicine. The method comprises the steps that 1, sparse noise stimulation and black-and-white brightness stimulation are performed on a neuron cluster of the homing pigeon, and ON-OFF neurons with obvious responses to brightness are obtained; 2, a grating stimulation experiment is performed on the neurons, and then the theory of information is utilized to analyze the neuron responses; 3, a character reconstruction experiment is performed on the neurons to obtain a certain conclusion; 4, four model frameworks are constructed, and activation curves are solved; and 5, ON filters and OFF filters in models are acquired, the four models are verified, and then the performance of each model is assessed in combination with the corresponding activation curve to obtain the conclusion that a retina can perform quick coding on spatial information by use of first-spike latency of the neuron cluster. Through the method, the problems that in the prior art, the study of a bird OT area coding mechanism is notin place, and the information processing mechanism is not clearly understood are solved.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the field of biomedicine and relates to a method for studying the information processing mechanism from RGC to OT of homing pigeons. Background technique [0002] In the visual system of animals, visual information is often transmitted through neural electrical signals in neural pathways, and among the neural electrical signals, high-frequency spike signals are very important, carrying key information about neuron activity. [0003] Birds have a well-developed visual system. The Optic Tecturn (OT) is a very important nerve nucleus in the process of visual information processing in birds. The main target area has a certain degree of integration of visual information. Studies have shown that OT neurons receive input from RGCs, however, the information processing mechanism of the pathway from RGCs to OT is still unclear. Therefore, the research on the information coding mechanism of the OT area can reveal its information process...
