The present disclosure relates to virtual object toolkits. In some implementations, the method includes obtaining a virtual object toolkit that includes a set of virtual object templates for a particular virtual object type. In some implementations, the virtual object toolkit includes a plurality of component groups. In some implementations, each component group of the plurality of component groups is associated with a particular portion of the virtual object. In some implementations, the method includes receiving a request to assemble a virtual object. In some implementations, the requesting includes selecting a component from at least some of the plurality of component groups. In some implementations, the method includes synthesizing the virtual object according to the request.
