Abstract

The invention discloses a method for monitoring yarns of a thread spinner based on edge projection analysis. A shell is arranged and an electronic control device is arranged in the shell; the electronic control device comprises a power circuit, a processor, an infrared emission unit and an image sensor; the infrared emission unit and the image sensor are connected with the processor, an infrared filter is arranged on the image sensor, and the infrared emission unit is arranged right above the image sensor. The method for monitoring the yarns of the thread spinner set in the processor comprisesthe following steps that (1) every a fixed period T, the processor collects image data f<t> (x, y) output by the image sensor; (2) a binarization algorithm is used for performing binarization processing on the image data f<t> (x, y) to obtain a binary function y <t> (x, y); (3) the projection area of the binary function y<t>(x, y) is projected to the x axis to obtain a histogram W<t>[M]; (4) if W<t>[i] is greater than N/2, W<t>[i] is set to be 0; and the sum S<t> of the histogram W<t>[M] is calculated; and (5) the difference value delta S between the sum S<t> and the sum S<t-1> of the histogram is calculated: when delta S is larger than or equal to a preset threshold value K, the yarns are determined in a motion state; otherwise, the yarns are determined in a static state.
