Embodiment Construction

[0033] The invention will be described in more detail by means of one or more examples, which in no way limit the invention.

[0034] In biology, aging is a complex process that results in the slow degradation of cellular function at the onset of aging in an organism. This is a complex biological mechanism involving the degeneration of many genes, especially in senescent cells. Usually the telomeres of the chromosomes are affected.

[0035]Telomeres are highly repetitive regions of DNA that exist at the ends of chromosomes. Every time the rod-shaped chromosomes of eukaryotes are copied, the enzyme complex of DNA polymerase fails to copy the last nucleotide during mitosis, also known as cell division. Telomeres shorten with age, possibly as a result of inflammation and / or repeated stress an organism experiences. This leads to the emergence of diseases, such as age-related cancers or neurodegenerative diseases, in organisms with large numbers of senescent cells.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for obtaining electrolysed water, andthe method comprises the following steps of adding conductive salt at a concentration of 0.5 to 2 g/L to untreated water; electrolysing the water obtained in i) by using an electrolysis module comprising at least one boron-doped diamond electrode attached to a substrate of silicon, wherein the boron concentration is between 200 ppm (3*1019 B atoms/cm3) and 1500 ppm (2*1020 B atoms/cm3), the duration of electrolysis is between 1 and 30 minutes. The invention also relates to the water obtained according to the method for treating diseases or disorders relating to cell senescence and to a composition containing such water, a method for increasing the senolitic character of senescent cells and a device for treating skin conditions. The device comprises an infusion vessel or bag containing the water obtained according to the method of the invention.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the field of treating diseases or disorders related to cellular senescence, especially cancer or neurodegenerative diseases. The present invention relates more particularly to methods of obtaining electrolyzed water for use in the treatment of diseases or conditions associated with cellular senescence. The invention also relates to the water obtained by this method, its use, either by direct application or in the form of a composition, for the treatment of diseases or conditions associated with cellular senescence, and suitable devices for the treatment of the aforementioned conditions. The invention also relates to methods of selecting non-senescent cells for use in transplantation applications. Background technique [0002] As first described by Leonard Hayflick in 1961 while studying primary fibroblasts in culture (WI-38), fibroblasts, after undergoing a limited number of population doublings, maintain Irreversibly...
