The invention relates to an apparatus for discharging a liquid containing at least one active substance into a toilet bowl coverable by a lid, the apparatus having a container receiving the liquid, which container is fixed in the toilet lid and is operatively connected to a discharging apparatus pointing into the toilet bowl such that the liquid is discharged into the toilet bowl via the discharging apparatus by pressure in the container. The problem to be solved by the invention is that of spraying the liquid containing at least one active substance into a closed chamber in order to deploy an optimal operating force by means of a temporally dense sequence between application of the liquid and use of the toilet. Said problem is solved in that the toilet lid (7) has a passage opening (8) in which the container (9) is fixed such that, as a result of the installation position thereof, the top side (10, 24) thereof is accessible from the outside for manually exerting pressure, thus triggering a liquid discharge. Alternatively, the container (9) can also be an integral component of the toilet lid (7).
