Abstract

The present invention discloses a flip-out type portable telephone and a hinge mechanism for opening and closing the flip cover of such a flip-out type portable telephone. A speaker is mounted inside the flip so that a space for arranging the speaker is removed from the phone body, thereby enabling the phone body to be compact. The hinge mechanism includes a pair of hinge assemblies suitable for opening and closing the flip cover, and is arranged on the opposite sides of the liquid crystal display module installed on the upper part of the phone body, so that it can pass through the hinges arranged on the opposite sides of the LCD module. Upward rotation of the shaft opens the flap. Therefore, a microphone unit can be arranged at the lower end of the phone body. Furthermore, the microphone unit can be arranged at an arbitrary position on the lower part of the phone body. According to the settings above, the LCD unit is always revealed.
