Benefits of technology

The present invention solves the problem of driving damaged or stripped fasteners by providing an anti-slip fastener driver. The driver has a unique design with a driving portion that includes at least one peripheral face and at least one contact face at the opposite end. The contact face has two flat faces that form a right angle to the peripheral faces of the driving section. The driver also has a middle section between the two driving sections, each containing three peripheral faces and two proximal faces. The middle section has a spaced face that is perpendicular to the peripheral faces of the driving section. The driver ensures a secure grip on the fastener and reduces the risk of slipping.

Problems solved by technology

A stripped or damaged screw is one on which the head is damaged and, thus, difficult or impossible to turn using conventional screw drivers.
This damage of screws can occur through normal wear and tear, or by using the wrong type or size of driver for the screw.
Some heads of the screws are more susceptible to stripping than others, particularly when being driven by machine-guided tools.
These types of heads also are easily damaged if too much torque is applied, often leading to a stripped screw.
However, it needs more tools for cutting a new slot in the stripped screw.
Actually, that is too much trouble for users.

Embodiment Construction

[0020]FIGS. 1 through 4 show an anti-slip fastener driver 1 in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention. The anti-slip fastener driver 1 is applied in a hex key. The anti-slip fastener driver 1 includes a body portion 10 and a driving portion 11. The body portion 10 includes six outer walls 101. The driving portion 11 is formed at one terminal end of the body portion 10.

[0021]At least one contact face 12 is formed at one distal end of the driving portion 11 opposite to the body portion 10. The driving portion 11 includes at least one peripheral face 111. The at least one contact face 12 is at a first included angle α 90 degrees to the at least one peripheral face. The at least one contact face 12 include two contact faces 12. The driving portion 11 includes two driving sections 1101 and a middle section 1102 arranged between the two driving sections 1101. Each driving section 1101 has three peripheral faces 111. The driving portion 11 includes an outer periphery t...

Abstract

An anti-slip fastener driver includes a driving portion formed at one terminal end of a body portion. The driving portion includes two driving sections and a middle arranged between the two driving sections. Each driving section forms a contact face which has a first included angle at 90 degrees to the peripheral face of the driving portion. Each contact face includes a long side connecting with a proximal face of the middle section. The long side of the contact face and the proximal face of the middle section include a second included angle at 90 degrees.

Description

CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION[0001]The present application is a continuation-in-part application of U.S. patent application Ser. No. 13 / 949,300 filed on Jul. 24, 2013, of which the disclosure is incorporated herein.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION[0002]1. Field of the Invention[0003]The present invention relates to a fastener driver and, in particular, to an anti-slip fastener driver that prevents or reduces the tendency of a driving portion to slip out of the head of a stripped screw.[0004]2. Description of the Related Art[0005]A screw is a threaded fastener that is used to attach a workpiece or help keep a workpiece in position. The screw has a head specially formed section on one end thereof and designed to fit a certain type of screw driver, which allows users to insert or remove the screw. A stripped or damaged screw is one on which the head is damaged and, thus, difficult or impossible to turn using conventional screw drivers. This damage of screws can occur through normal...
