Abstract

The inventive embodiment discloses a method for downloading a characteristic MIDP application program of mobile information equipment. The method comprises storing the segment of the downloaded MIDP application program by the mobile equipment if an interruption occurs during downloading the MIDP application program from a server; transmitting a message for requesting downloading the subsequent segments of the MIDP application program to the server by the mobile equipment if the interruption recovers, the message carrying the initial position information of the requested subsequent segments ofthe MIDP application program; and downloading the requested subsequent segments of the MIDP application program from the server to the mobile equipment. The inventive embodiment also discloses the mobile equipment and the server. The technical proposal of the invention improves the success ratio for downloading the MIDP application program and reduces the waste of network bandwidth and flow.
