A receipt printer (100) includes the cover opening and closing mechanism (10) which has an upper part cover (13), and a clipping stop part (21) which clips and stops the upper part cover (13) in a closing state opposite to a device main body (11); left and right of the cover opening and closing mechanism (10) respectively include: a concave side part (23) formed on a position that is recessed toward centre more than sides (22) at left and right of the device main body (11), and a holding part (24) protruding leftwards and rightwards from the concave side part (23), and lower sides of left and right of the holding part (24) are respectively provided with releasing bars (25) which uses position change in above direction to release the clipping-stop of the clipping stop part (21).
