Abstract

The invention relates to a mortise lock (10). The mortise lock (10) comprises a casing body (12); a lock plunger (20) and a dead bolt (24) which are arranged and used for moving the casing body (12) into and out of the opening position and the locking position by using a bolt propelling wheel (22); and a dead bolt release component (38) used for selectively blocking and opening the dead bolt (24) to be moved into the casing body (12) to the opening position. The dead bolt release component (38) comprises a bolt blockage element (42) for blocking the dead bolt (24) to pass through; when the bolt propelling wheel (22) starts to rotate, the dead bolt release component (38) is propelled out of the blockage of the dead bolt (24) to move through the rod (50) connected with the bolt propelling wheel (22), and the further rotation of the bolt propelling wheel (22) ensure that the dead bolt (24) is moved into the casing body (12) to the opening position.
