The ring network framework provided by the embodiment of the invention comprises first convergence layer equipment, second convergence layer equipment, first access layer equipment and second access layer equipment, wherein the first access layer equipment is connected with the first convergence layer equipment; the second access layer equipment is connected with the second convergence layer equipment; the first convergence layer equipment is connected with the second convergence layer equipment; and the first access layer equipment is connected with the second access layer equipment. The method provided by the embodiment of the invention comprises the following steps: setting the first access layer equipment and the second access layer equipment as a root bridge; when the failure of the chain between the first convergence layer equipment and the first access layer equipment occurs, lowering the bridge priority of the first access layer equipment; computing the root port of the first access layer equipment by generating a tree protocol; and transmitting multicasting addition messages through the root ports. According to the invention, the whole multicasting service is ensured not to be interrupted.
