Embodiment Construction

[0023] figure 1 The schematic diagram shows an outline of an embodiment of an electronic ballast with a choke converter according to the invention. The electronic ballast 10 is fed on the input side by the supply DC voltage E1. In practice the supplying direct current voltage E1 can be an alternating current supply followed by a rectifier. The choke converter 12 comprises a converter choke L1 , a converter diode D1 and a converter switch S1 , which is controlled by a control circuit not shown, as is known to the skilled person from the prior art. After the converter choke coil is arranged in parallel with the load circuit R L of storage capacitor C1.

[0024] Negative pole of supply DC voltage E1 and external reference potential M ext coupled, while the switch S1, capacitor C1 and load circuit R of the choke converter 12 L and the internal reference potential M int coupling.

[0025] Currently, the compensation inductance L k It is connected in series with the converte...

Abstract

The present invention relates to an electronic ballast (10) for operating at least one discharge lamp having an input having a first and a second input connection for coupling to a DC supply voltage, wherein the second input connection is connected to an external reference potential (Mext); a load circuit (RL) having an output having a first and a second output connection for connecting the at least one discharge lamp; a constant-current transformer (12) comprising a converter throttle (L1), a converter diode (D1) and a converter switch (S1), wherein the converter throttle (L1) is coupled serially between the first input connection (E1) and the load circuit (RL); an activation circuit that is configured to activate the converter switch (S1) in operation with an HF signal; wherein a first capacity (Chi) is defined by the regions of the electronic ballast (10) that are connected in operation to an HF voltage, whereby a first voltage (Uchi) is defined that drops in operation via the first capacity (Chi) with respect to the external reference potential (Mext); and wherein a second capacity (Clo) is defined by the regions of the electronic ballast (10) that are supplied in operation with respect to HF on an internal reference potential (Mint) by a DC voltage; wherein at least one component is coupled between the internal (Mint) and the external reference potential (Mext) via which a second voltage (Uclo) that is counter-phased to the first voltage (Uchi) drops in operation.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an electronic ballast for operating at least one discharge lamp, the electronic ballast having an input with a first and a second input connection for coupling to a supply DC voltage, wherein A second input connection is connected to an external reference potential; a load circuit having an output with a first and a second output connection for connecting at least one discharge lamp; a choke converter comprising a converter choke a flow coil, a converter diode and a converter switch, wherein the converter choke is coupled in series between the first input interface and the load circuit; a control circuit designed to control the converter switch with a high frequency signal during operation; In this case, the first capacitor is bounded by a region of the electronic ballast which is connected to the high-frequency voltage during operation, thereby defining a first voltage which is related to an external reference during operation v...
