Abstract

The invention provides a computed tomography (CT) line breaking processing method applicable to wide area protection. The method comprises the steps of: calculating a line breaking phase current by using a CT which is directly connected with a line breaking phase CT through a power grid element but independent of a protection range according to Kirchhoff's law and obtaining current of all CTs in a protected area from the wide protection; and detecting whether the CT is a boundary CT or not in the protected area, calculating the line breaking phase current and applying the line breaking phase current to a differential protection calculation. The method can be widely applied to wide protection, and can effectively improve failure sensitivity of CT line breaking phase when CT line breaking failure happens.
