The samples of the essence supplemented material and coarse fodder are mixed uniformly in the ratio of 1;1; a mixed sample comprising a 200mg sample of the essence supplemented material and a 200mg sample of the coarse fodder which are respectively and accurately weighed and the sample of the coarse fodder are adopted as culture substrates to carry out in vitro culture, and the net gas yield of the culture substrate for 24 hours is measured; the metabolic energy rate (MER) of the culture substrates is estimated with the gas field in 24 hours and the chemical components of the culture substrates in in vitro culture by referring to the estimation model of Menke and Steingass (1988); the net energy lactating rate (NELR) of the mixed sample of the essence supplemented material sample and the coarse fodder sample and the NELF of the coarse fodder are calculated through a model formula; and the comprehensive evaluation on the nutrition quality of the cow essence supplemented material is realized with a milk production efficiency index.
