Embodiment 2

[0033] see figure 2 , the structure of this example is roughly the same as that of Embodiment 1, except that the multi-wavelength laser array in the optical carrier input unit becomes a single-wavelength laser, and the wavelength division multiplexing unit and the wavelength division multiplexing unit are omitted. The few-mode fiber in this embodiment is a two-mode fiber.

[0034] The working principle of a self-coherent optical fiber communication system based on mode division multiplexing provided in this embodiment is as follows: see figure 1 , when the light of a certain wavelength generated by the single-wavelength laser passes through the optical delay line, a part of the light is divided into two orthogonal paths through the PBS, and the two paths of light separated from the PBS pass through the first MZM modulation module and the second MZM respectively. The modulation module performs signal modulation. The modulated two-way optical signals are merged into the PBC t...

Abstract

The invention discloses a self-correlation optical fiber communication system based on mode division multiplexing. The self-correlation optical fiber communication system based on mode division multiplexing comprises an optical carrier input unit, optical signal modulation units, a wavelength division multiplexing unit, a mode division multiplexing and demultiplexing unit, a wavelength division multiplexing unit and coherent reception units. The mode division multiplexing and reconciliation multiplexing unit comprises a mode multiplexer and mode demultiplexer, and the mode multiplexer and the mode demultiplexer are connected through few-mode optical fibers. The optical carrier input unit is connected with each optical signal modulation unit, the wavelength division multiplexing unit and the mode multiplexer through single-mode optical fibers. The mode multiplexer is connected with the mode demultiplexer through few-mode optical fibers. The mode demultiplexer is connected with the wavelength division multiplexing unit and each coherent reception unit through single-mode optical fibers. The optical carrier input unit is further connected with the wavelength division multiplexing unit. The self-correlation optical fiber communication system based on mode division multiplexing eliminates an expensive narrow line width adjustable local oscillator light source which is arranged at a reception end, enables a laser to be conveniently managed and maintained, is free from using frequency offset estimation in a digital signal processor (DSP) and phase retrieval algorithm, reduces complexity of the DSP and has the advantages of being high in spectrum effectiveness and big in nonlinearity tolerance.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the technical field of optical fiber communication, in particular to a self-coherent optical fiber communication system based on mode division multiplexing. Background technique [0002] Modern communication methods such as multimedia services have put forward higher requirements for communication capacity, and have greatly promoted the development of the communication industry. The advent and commercial application of ear-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) has greatly promoted the development of optical fiber communication and extended the transmission distance without repeaters. With the improvement of communication capacity, factors such as chromatic dispersion, polarization mode dispersion, nonlinear effects, and phase noise in optical fiber links greatly limit the transmission distance without repeaters and practical network applications. In order to further improve transmission capacity and transmission distance, the tradition...
