Problems solved by technology

[0008] from image 3 -5 It can be seen that the conventional method and the early method cannot guarantee the maximum CoMP performance, because as a result of the above network pre-clustering or wired clustering, only a small number of cooperating base stations can join CoMP
Another disadvantage of this early approach is that network clustering requires a lot of signaling, since all neighboring base stations need to be queried without knowing which base stations will actually join CoMP in the radio layer

Embodiment Construction

[0052] refer to Figure 6 and 7, illustrate embodiments of the present invention. More specifically, wireless clustering prior to wired clustering, plus network reconfiguration, is illustrated.

[0053] Figure 6 Represents a flow chart illustrating various steps performed according to this embodiment. FIG. 7 illustrates serving two user equipment UEs according to the CoMP technology according to the network in FIG. 5 1 and UE2 clustering process. In step S200, determine the user equipment UE 1 and UE 2 between transmit / receive properties. According to radio properties, for example, RSRQ or signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR), radio clustering is performed in step S202, so as to generate 1 and UE 2 A radio cluster of base stations of sufficient radio channel properties 200 1 and 200 2 . In other words, one or more coordinating base stations are selected for coordinated multi-point communication of mobile units served by the serving base station. It can be...

Abstract

A method for coordinated multipoint communication in a wireless communication network is described. The wireless communication network has a plurality of base stations and a backhaul network connecting the plurality of base stations. The method includes selecting (S302) one or more cooperating base stations for a coordinated multipoint communication for a mobile unit serviced by a serving base station, determining (S310) whether the backhaul network supports a coordinated multipoint technique selected for a cooperating base station, and in case the backhaul network is not sufficient to support a coordinated multipoint technique for one or more of the cooperating base stations, reconfiguring (S312) the backhaul network to meet the requirements of the coordinated multipoint technique.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments of the present invention relate to a coordinated multi-point communication method in a wireless communication network, a wireless communication system, a base station and a network controller. More specifically, embodiments relate to coordinated multi-point communication in a wireless communication system or network comprising a plurality of base stations and a backhaul network connecting the plurality of base stations. Background technique [0002] In LTE-Advanced (LTE = Long Term Evolution), Coordinated Multipoint (CoMP) techniques provide improved user throughput. Several base stations (BS) jointly serve one or more user elements or user equipments (UE), by increasing the virtual number of antennas, this allows more efficient management of inter-cell interference, and MIMO systems (MIMO=Multiple Input Multiple Output) higher multiplexing gain. In order to maximize the performance gain of CoMP, it is necessary to find out and select coo...
