Starting from the aspect of invariable light intensity received by a sensor, by adjusting the distance between a light source and the sensor or the emitted light intensity of the light source, the method can calculate the turbidity of the water body based on a Beer-Lambert law. The device basically comprises the light source, a light intensity sensor, a single chip microcomputer, a slide rod, a light source moving mechanism (or a light intensity sensor moving mechanism), a wireless signal transmitter, a wireless signal receiver and a data processing system.
