The invention discloses an analysis method and system for an implicit discourse relation. The method comprises the following steps: receiving input implicit argument embodiments to be detected which comprise a pre-positioned argument and a post-positioned argument; screening explicit argument embodiments which have semantic parallelism relative to the implicit argument embodiments and contain pre-set connection clue words from a corpus; calculating the semantic parallelism between each explicit argument embodiment and the corresponding implicit argument embodiment to be detected; screening out a plurality of explicit argument embodiments according to a first pre-set rule and determining the screened explicit argument embodiments as a parallel explicit argument embodiment set; calculating the confidence coefficient of a discourse relation of each parallel explicit argument embodiment; calculating the possibility of parallelism between each discourse relation in the parallel explicit argument embodiment set and the discourse relation of the corresponding implicit argument embodiment to be detected by at least utilizing the semantic parallelism of each parallel explicit argument embodiment, the confidence coefficient of the discourse relation and a second pre-set rule; and determining the discourse relation with the greatest parallel possibility as the discourse relation of the implicit argument embodiment to be detected. By adopting the analysis method and system for the implicit discourse relation, the aim of identifying the implicit discourse relation is realized.
