Embodiment Construction
[0018] In existing heater bimetals and assemblies, the installation of the heater bimetal into the circuit breaker housing can result in misalignment of the heater bimetal within the circuit breaker housing. Such misalignment may result in a shift in the position of the bimetallic element relative to the trip member of the trip mechanism. Calibration of circuit breakers can become more difficult and variable due to such misalignment. Additionally, one or more embodiments may help prevent assembly of damaged heater elements or incorrectly formed elements. Additionally, various embodiments may provide a more efficient connection into the housing. Also, ideally, the assembly of the circuit breaker components into the circuit breaker housing is entirely gravity assembled. That is, all components should drop vertically into the breaker housing by gravity, and all fasteners connecting the heater bimetal to the breaker housing should also assemble vertically.
