An apparatus for controlling the operation of a HVAC system, where the apparatus is adapted to be releasably connectable to a thermostat sub-base assembly connected to an HVAC system. The apparatus is configured to be releasably connectable to the connector pins in a manner such that the apparatus may be slid onto the sub-base and easily removed without any disconnection of wiring. After completion of all construction, the apparatus may be removed and saved for future use, and a new digital thermostat may then be slid onto the connector pins of the sub-base.

An assembly and method of plural conductive slots sharing an overheating destructive fixing element is disclosed, including a first conductive element, a second conductive element and an overheating destructive fixing element. The first conductive element includes a front end, a rear end, plural conductive slots, a connection portion and a contact portion. The conductive slots include a front end conductive slot and a rear end conductive slot, between which a control section is defined. The connection portion is disposed on the control section, and the contact portion connects the connection portion. The second conductive element contacts the contact portion by the overheating destructive fixing element, allowing the plural conductive slots to share the overheating destructive fixing element. A small-sized simple switch for circuit protection of the present invention is simple in structure and easy to operate, and can be readily switched for safety protection of circuits. An alloy plate of the present invention is highly resilient. When in overload, the alloy plate expands and becomes deformed due to the different thermal expansion coefficient and is deformed upward to become disengaged from a wire connecting pad with which it is originally in contact, causing the switch to be switched from the "ON" condition to the "OFF" condition. The alloy plate pushes a lever pivoted to the moving end of the alloy plate to move up such that the lever pushes one end of a pivoted reset button to move up. A user only has to depress the reset button and the switch will be again in the "ON" condition such that repeated ON/OFF conditions of the protection circuit can be effected. If there is no overload on the circuit, the switch of the present invention will be operated to be in "ON" or "OFF" condition as ordinary switches.

A control system includes a temperature sensor, an occupant detector, and a responsive circuit for activating a warning horn or to provide ventilation when an occupant is sensed in a dangerously hot passenger compartment. The circuit is passively actuated, such as by using a switch system incorporating a shape memory alloy (SMA) wire or a bimetal switch, in order to control temperatures in the passenger compartment or trunk of vehicles, such as when the vehicle is parked in the sun. A switch module of built-in anti-surge disconnection structure mainly comprises an overcurrent protection switch and has anti-surge and disconnection structures ingeniously built inside a fire-proof and heat-resisting housing. The present invention comprises a switch area formed by a binary alloy conductive spring leaf and two connecting points, an anti-surge area formed by at least one bare metal oxide varistor placed in the housing and a plurality of conductive plates, and a disconnection area formed by a spring element, a band, and a thermo-sensitive piece. The releasing lever presses a middle of a wire of the tension spring to drive the movable plate for inversion. A projection is formed in the middle of the wire of the tension spring to contact with the releasing lever.
