Abstract

A device for detecting the concentration of microplastics in the air, including a glass ultrapure water tank, a glass gas scrubber, a glass filtration device, and an air pump; the glass ultrapure water tank and the glass gas scrubber are connected through a glass tube. A first valve is installed on the glass tube between the glass ultrapure water tank and the glass gas scrubber; the lower part of the glass gas scrubber and the upper part of the glass filter device are connected through the glass tube, and the glass gas scrubber is connected to the glass tube. A second valve is installed on the glass tube between the glass filter device and the glass filter device; the glass gas scrubber, glass filter device, and air suction pump are connected through the same glass tube, and a gas flow rate is installed on the glass tube connected to the glass gas scrubber device. According to the design, a third valve and a fourth valve are installed near the junction of the three connected glass tubes. The concentration of microplastics in the collected air can be detected by calculating the volume of air extracted by using an air pump and counting the number of microplastics under a microscope.
