Problems solved by technology
However, the disadvantage of these methods is that the specific biodegradation cycle can only treat a small part of the spent POx / MSA
In addition, efficient biodegradation of MSA may hinder the ability of WWTP to degrade other more easily oxidized species
Optimum conditions for biodegrading MSA differ significantly from standard WWTP operating conditions, and they vary from site to site, thereby disrupting production planning

Abstract
The invention discloses a process for recovering and recycling waste methanesulfonic acid (MSA) and phosphorous acid (H3PO3) in a bisphosphonation process for reuse in the process. The recovery process involves treating a waste crude mother liquor stream with HCl to remove sodium ion, as sodium chloride, recovering HC1-H2O by atmospheric distillation, separating and dehydrating a mixture of methanesulfonic acid and phosphorous acid by vacuum distillation for recycle. The substantially dry methanesulfonic acid and phosphorous acid, and previous HC1, can all be recycled back to the process for reuse.
Description
Method for recovering and recycling methanesulfonic acid and phosphorous acid Background of the invention 1. field of invention The present invention relates to the recovery and reuse of spent methanesulfonic acid (MSA) and phosphorous acid (H3PO3) in a diphosphonation process by separating a mixture of methanesulfonic acid and phosphorous acid by sequential distillation and Remove the moisture from it. 2. Brief description of the disclosure content in this field Alendronate sodium, monosodium 4-amino-1-hydroxybutylene-1-diphosphonate trihydrate, is a promising anti-regeneration agent in orthopedic diseases, including osteoporosis, especially in postmenopausal women. Absorb new potions. The utility and preparation method of this compound are disclosed in US Patents 4,922,007 and 5,019,651, both of which are assigned to Merk&Co. , Inc. . As described in the above patents, the process for producing sodium alendronate on a large scale produces large quantities of mat...
