Furthermore, since most saliva is partially absorbed after swallowing, the long-term accumulation of propionic acid and acetic acid can interfere with bone metabolism through the circulatory system, thus providing a preliminary diagnosis of PMOP. By collecting only saliva samples, without blood collection or radiation, the procedure is simple, painless, and provides physicians with preliminary diagnostic suggestions.
