Embodiment 1

[0034] Example 1 Mouse open field test (OFT) model.

[0035] The experimental animals were male, 7-week-old ICR mice. The mice had free access to food and water, and adopted a 12-h diurnal cycle (8:00-20:00 was night, 20:00-8:00 was day).

[0036] The styrax essential oil is dissolved in 1% Tween80 to prepare a 10% storax essential oil solution. The mice were randomly divided into 3 groups: 10% Styrax inhaled for 10 min, 10% Styrax inhaled for 30 min, and vehicle group (1% Tween80 inhaled for 10 min).

[0037] The sniffing device is a square plastic box with a cover, 25 cm long, 20 cm wide, and 13 cm high, with 2 small round holes. Dip 3 absorbent cotton balls into 2ml of the solution, put it into a spherical grid, and put it in a corner of the square box. Put the mice in a square box and close the lid, and sniff for a specified time. Use each cotton ball only once.

[0038] Such as figure 1 As shown, after 5 days of adaptive feeding, inhalation was carried out according...

[0042] Example 2 Novel environment feeding inhibition experiment (NSF) model in mice.

[0043] The experimental animals were male, 7-week-old ICR mice. The mice had free access to food and water, and adopted a 12-h diurnal cycle (8:00-20:00 was night, 20:00-8:00 was day).

[0050] Example 3 Mouse sugar preference test (SPT) model.

[0051] The experimental animals were male, 7-week-old ICR mice. The mice had free access to food and water, and adopted a 12-h diurnal cycle (8:00-20:00 was night, 20:00-8:00 was day).

[0052] The styrax essential oil is dissolved in 1% Tween80 to prepare a 10% storax essential oil solution. The mice were randomly divided into 3 groups: 10% Styrax inhaled for 10 min, 10% Styrax inhaled for 30 min, and vehicle group (1% Tween80 inhaled for 10 min).

Abstract

The invention discloses an application of styrax in preparation of anti-depression and anti-anxiety products. The styrax is used for preparing anti-depression and anti-anxiety products which can effectively treat or prevent depression and anxiety disorder. Animal experiments prove the remarkable resisting effects against depression and anxiety. According to a large number of animal experiments, the styrax can increase the time of a mouse staying at the center in an open-field test, reduce the feeding latency of mouse, increase the sweet water preference value and shorten total staying time in a forced swimming test and total staying time in a tail suspension test. In conclusion, the styrax realizes an exact curative effect on depression and anxiety disorder; and meanwhile, as a pure natural extract, the styrax causes few side effects and is safe and convenient to use and is of great significance on preventing and treating depression and anxiety disorder.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the technical field of medicine, in particular to a new application of styrax, that is, its application in the preparation of antidepressant and anxiety products. Background technique [0002] Depression is a mental disease that seriously endangers the physical and mental health of human beings. It is mainly manifested as anhedonia and loss of interest, accompanied by other psychological and (or) physical symptoms of varying degrees such as anxiety and sleep disturbance. The World Health Organization (WHO) predicts that depression will become the second most disabling disease by 2020. At present, the prevalence of depression in China is 3%-5%, and the number of patients is about 26 million. The symptoms of depression are changeable, and the pathogenesis is still unclear. What is more consistent is that stress is an important trigger for depression, and multiple brain regions such as the hippocampus, cortex, and hypothalamus to...
