The invention relates to the technical field of cargo loading and unloading, in particular to a columnar cargo loading method which comprises the following steps of (1) placing multiple flat-state columnar cargoes (1) in parallel along the axial direction; (2) enabling a loading box (4) to be at an inclined state; (3) operating a dump truck (3) to back off so as to move toward the direction of themultiple columnar cargoes (1); (4) adjusting the gradient of the loading box (4); (5) operating the dump truck (3) to move forward, wherein when the multiple columnar cargoes (1) are turned over, themultiple columnar cargoes (1) are at the vertical state; (6) operating the dump truck (3) to adjust the gradient of the loading box (4) so as to enable the edge of an insertion plate (5) to contact the ground; (7) sequentially loading the multiple columnar cargoes (1) into the loading box (4) under the action of the insertion plate (5). The invention provides the loading method which can be usedfor loading the flat-state columnar cargoes into a freight car and enabling the columnar cargoes to change from the flat state to the vertical state without the need of a crane.
