Embodiment Construction

[0040] OLEDs can be fabricated on various substrates such as glass, plastic and metal. figure 1 The organic light emitting device 100 is shown schematically and non-limitatively. The drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, and some layer structures in the drawings can also be omitted as needed. Device 100 may include substrate 101 , anode 110 , hole injection layer 120 , hole transport layer 130 , electron blocking layer 140 , light emitting layer 150 , hole blocking layer 160 , electron transport layer 170 , electron injection layer 180 and cathode 190 . Device 100 may be fabricated by sequentially depositing the described layers. The properties and functions of the various layers, as well as exemplary materials, are described in more detail in US Patent No. 7,279,704 B2, columns 6-10, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.

[0041] Each of these layers has more instances. For example, flexible and transparent substrate-anode combinations a...

Abstract

Indolocarbazole tetraphenylene compounds are disclosed. These novel compounds contain tetraarylene or tetraheteroarylene which can be used as charge transporting materials, charge blocking materials, hosts or emitters in an organic electroluminescent device. These novel compounds offer better device performance than comparative compounds that don't contain a tetraarylene or tetraheteroarylene structure. Also disclosed are an electroluminescent device and a formulation.

Description

[0001] This application claims priority to US Provisional Application No. 62 / 574,761, filed October 20, 2017, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety. technical field [0002] The present invention relates to compounds for use in organic electronic devices, such as organic light emitting devices. More particularly, it relates to a compound having an indolecarbazole tetra-ortho-phenylene structure, an organic electroluminescent device and a compound formulation containing the compound. Background technique [0003] Organic electronic devices include but are not limited to the following categories: organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic field-effect transistors (O-FETs), organic light-emitting transistors (OLETs), organic photovoltaic devices (OPVs), dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) , organic optical detectors, organic photoreceptors, organic field-effect devices (OFQDs), light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs), organic laser diodes, and organic...
