Embodiment Construction

[0055] Aspects of the present disclosure generally address one or more issues related to daisy chaining of nodes, such as base stations.

[0056] This disclosure describes techniques for transferring backhaul information between daisy-chained base stations. In a non-limiting example, the base station may be mounted on a series of communicatively connected light posts aligned substantially linearly along a street. Due to the placement of these light posts, the base station is located on a line of sight (LoS) channel covering the entire series of light posts. This linear arrangement of base stations may affect the signal quality of the LoS channel in between because a signal transmitted from a first base station to a second base station may extend beyond the second base station and interfere with another signal transmitted from the second base station to a third base station. The signal to interference and noise ratio (SINR) is negatively affected.

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to data transmission between nodes and peer nodes. Interference alignment techniques are used to mitigate interference between nodes on line-of-sight channels. Data streams are exchanged over two transports between nodes and peers. The above two transmissions are formed according to the interference-aligned precoding matrix. The node may include linearly aligned antennas. To further mitigate interference between a node and a peer node, a pair of these antennas is selected for communication with the peer node based on the distance between the node and the peer node and the wavelength of communication. Channel state information may be exchanged between nodes and peer nodes for use in selecting precoding matrices and antennas. Antennas used for communication between nodes and peer nodes may be beamforming antennas.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This disclosure claims priority to U.S. Patent Application Serial No. 15 / 789,450, entitled "Method and Node for Data Transmission Over Line-of-sight Channel," filed October 20, 2017, the contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference . technical field [0003] The present disclosure relates to the field of wireless communication, and in particular to a method and a node suitable for data transmission between peer nodes. Background technique [0004] Cost-effective dense deployment is an important enabler of long-term evolution (LTE) and fifth generation (5G) wireless networks. So-called small base stations (i.e. access nodes (also called access points or base stations)) that serve multiple nearby user equipment (UE) terminals with lower transmit power than conventional base stations can efficiently support ultra-dense Broadband access. Each small base station is connected to the core network via a backhaul c...
