Embodiment Construction

[0020] Reference will now be made in detail to some embodiments of the invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

[0021] figure 1 is an exemplary system diagram illustrating an exemplary wireless network 100 with conditional handover, according to an embodiment of the present invention. Wireless system 100 includes one or more fixed infrastructure units forming a network distributed over a geographical area. A base unit may also be called an access point, access terminal, base station, Node B, evolved Node B (eNB), or other terminology used in the art. The network can be a homogeneous network or a heterogeneous network, and can be deployed on the same frequency or different frequencies. The frequency used to provide coverage may be low frequency (eg, below 6 GHz) or high frequency (eg, above 6 GHz). For example, base stations (base station, BS) BS 101, BS 102, BS 103, BS 191 and BS 192 serve a plurality of mobile stations (MS or UE) in a s...

Abstract

Apparatus and methods are provided for handover robustness. In novel aspect, UE receives a conditional handover (CHO) command from a source gNB containing one or a set of candidate cells with corresponding triggering conditions; detects a handover conditions for a target gNB belonging to the set of candidate cells; and performs HO procedure towards the target gNB. In one embodiment, the conditional HO command further configures a validity timer that controls a validity of handover conditions for the set of candidate cells. The validity timer is started upon receiving the conditional HO command, the validity timer is stopped upon detecting at least one events comprising a handover condition is met and a normal handover command is received, and the conditional HO command is released upon theexpiration of the validity timer.

Description

[0001] cross reference [0002] The present invention claims the following priority according to 35 U.S.C. §111(a) and based on 35 U.S.C. §120 and §365(c): the international filing date is October 31, 2018, the application number is PCT / CN2018 / 113124, title International application for "Apparatus and Methods to improve mobility robustness in wireless network", the inventions of each of the foregoing documents are hereby incorporated by reference. technical field [0003] Embodiments of the present invention relate generally to wireless communications, and, more particularly, to mobile robustness improvements in wireless networks. Background technique [0004] In current wireless communication networks, handover procedures are performed to support mobility when a UE moves between different cells. For example, in current new radio (new radio, NR) communication systems, only basic handover is introduced. The basic handover is mainly based on the Long Term Evolution (LTE) ha...
