Embodiment Construction

[0054] Hereinafter, a method for evaluating the condition of the water purification system will be explained. The water purification system includes water purification equipment and at least one sterilizing grade filter. At least one sterile grade filter is integrated into the fluid path of the disposable tubing set, and the tubing set is connected to the outlet port of the water purification device. The apparatus pushes product water (or purified water) through at least one sterile grade filter for the purpose of producing sterile water for infusion. The purpose of this device is to purify the feed water from the local water supply. Purified water may still carry some bioburden which needs to be removed by sterile grade filtration before being mixed with, for example, a sterile concentrate. Under normal use conditions, sterilization-grade filtration should be able to handle normal bioburden levels from the device and complete treatment without passing or clogging any microo...

Abstract

A method and apparatus for evaluating a condition of a water purification system (40, 110) comprising a water purification apparatus (110) arranged to output purified water through an outlet (128) andthrough at least one sterilizing grade filter (70a, 70b) of a line set (40) fluidly connected to the outlet (128), the method comprises: monitoring a flow rate (S1) correlated with the flow rate of the purified water flowing through the at least one sterilizing grade filter (70a, 70b); monitoring a pressure (S2) correlated with the pressure of the purified water flowing to the at least one sterilizing grade filter (70a, 70b); and evaluating (S3) a condition of the water purification system based on a relationship between the monitored flow rate and the monitored pressure.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to the field of water purification, and more particularly to a method and apparatus for assessing the condition of a water purification system comprising a water purification apparatus and at least one sterilizing grade filter. The present disclosure also relates to data processing apparatus, a computer program product and a computer readable data carrier. Background technique [0002] In the treatment of renal disease, solutes are removed from the blood by diffusion and / or convection. Diffusion is achieved, for example, during hemodialysis by adding dialysate to the fluid side of the filter. During peritoneal dialysis (PD), solutes are removed from the patient by diffusion by adding PD solution to the peritoneum. Convection is achieved by ultrafiltration during hemofiltration, in which large volumes of fluid are drawn from the patient's blood. A replacement fluid can then be added to the blood. Hemodiafiltration is a...
