Abstract

An enclosure 10 and a method for an electrical component having a base portion 14 and a cover portion 12. The base portion 14 has a first channel 34 which extends about at least a portion of a periphery of the base portion 14. The cover portion 12 has a second channel 54 which extends about at least a portion of a periphery of the cover portion 12. The second channel 54 is aligned with the first channel 34 to form a sealant receiving channel 70. A sealant 72 is provided in the sealant receiving channel 70. The cover portion 12 has at least one inlet opening 66 configured to receive the sealant 72 as the sealant 72 is injected into the sealant receiving channel 70. The cover portion 12 has at least one outlet opening 68 configured to allow excess sealant of the sealant 72 to escape from the sealant receiving channel 70 as the sealant 72 is injected into the sealant receiving channel 70.
