Abstract

The magnetic disc has at least one side face with several magnetic tracks, each magnetic track has the first and the second pulse trains separately in the first and the second servo areas to provide the first part of the position data of the tracks separately. When they are combined, the two parts provide corresponding magnetic track position. Each magnetic track includes also the third and the fourth pulse trains to provide the first and the second parts of the position data of the side face. When they are combined, the two parts provide the side face position of the magnetic disc. There also is included one pulse train to provide the position of one-fourth magnetic disc. The first and the second parts and their corresponding sector sequence numbers are combined to provide corresponding magnetic track position.
