The frequency control method for the air conditioner compressor comprises the steps that the environment temperature of an outdoor unit of the air conditioner in a refrigeration mode and the exhaust temperature of the compressor of the air conditioner are obtained; under the condition that the environment temperature is larger than the preset temperature, the operation mode of the compressor is determined according to the temperature change section which the exhaust temperature belongs; the operation mode comprises any one of a frequency increasing mode, a first constant frequency mode, a frequency decreasing mode and a second constant frequency mode; and the frequency increasing mode, the first constant frequency mode, the frequency decreasing mode and the second constant frequency mode which are arranged in sequence are taken as a cycle period, and cycle operation control is executed on the compressor according to the position of the determined operation mode in the cycle period. According to the frequency control method and device, by setting the first constant frequency mode and the second constant frequency mode, the compressor can be controlled to operate at the constant frequency in the multiple temperature change sections which the exhaust temperature belongs, and frequent frequency increasing and decreasing of the compressor are avoided.
