The invention relates to a connection system, a connection establishment device and a method thereof. For example, a connection establishment device may include a cap and an extension arm. The cap is configured to be positioned over the protruding portion of the first medical device, wherein the surgical barrier is positioned between the connection establishing device and the first medical device. The extension arm is configured to urge the male connector of the second medical device through the surgical barrier and into the female connector of the first medical device having the extension arm, which establishes one or more functional connections through the surgical barrier between the second medical device and the first medical device. An exemplary method for a connection establishment device includes a cap placement step, an articulation step, and a functional connection establishment step for establishing the one or more functional connections.
