Abstract

Provided is a variable resistor with few racks in the corner of a ceramic substrate and with sufficient yield, and to provide a manufacturing method of the resistor. Bending reduction parts 4e for reducing bending force and facilitating bending are arranged in a terminal board 4 in the variable resistor. Since parts where the bending reduction parts 4e are installed are bent in second and third corners 1m and 1n of the ceramic substrate 1, walls of the terminal board 4 in a widthwise direction are small compared to a base board 4a and the lower side of a side board 4b in a part of the terminal board 4 where the bending reduction parts 4e are arranged. Bending force of the bending reduction parts 4e in the second and third corners 1m and 1n is small in comparison with the bending force of the terminal board 4 in the first corner 1k, and the bending reduction parts 4e are easily bent. Lacks and cracks in the second and third corners 1m and 1n are few, and yield is sufficient.
