[0015] The method and apparatus of the present invention may be used in extrusion systems that extrude molding material from a liquefier pump. In particular, it can be used in various types of molding or prototyping systems that utilize an extrusion head to deposit "roads" of heated flowable material that shrinks and solidifies upon cooling to form a solid model. A preferred material deposition and shaping process is of the type disclosed in US Patent No. 5,121,329.
