Abstract

The system adaptively derives ECG chest lead signals of a conventional (12) lead ECG signal set. The system includes an input processor for receiving data comprising two measured ECG chest lead signals and receiving associated information identifying the two signals of the six ECG chest lead signals. A data processor in the system uses the information for identifying and selecting coefficients from a plurality of stored coefficients and applying a transformation using the selected coefficients to the data comprising the two measured ECG chest lead signals to derive data representing a plurality of non-measured ECG chest lead signals. An output processor processes the data representing the plurality of non-measured ECG chest lead signals for output. The selected coefficients are patient non-specific.

Description

[0001] This is the official application of the provisional application Serial No. 60 / 402,791 filed August 12, 2002 by B. Tabbara et al. field of invention [0002] The present invention relates to electrocardiogram (ECG) systems, and more particularly to such ECG systems capable of providing a composite signal corresponding to the signal provided by electrodes attached to standard human chest locations used in conventional 12-lead ECG signal sets , and replace the signal. Background of the invention [0003] ECG systems are well known and provide physicians with information about the physiological state of a patient's heart. More specifically, there are so-called conventional 12-lead ECG systems, which provide doctors with 12 waveforms called leads (lead signals). To provide this 12-lead ECG, ten electrodes are placed on the patient's body and the signals from these electrodes are processed in known manner to provide 12-lead signals. The ten electrodes include four electro...
