[0014]The following description is directed to a perimeter patrol system that uses unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) with cooperative control. The term “unmanned ground vehicle” is used herein in a broad sense, and includes robots and other devices having varying degrees of autonomy and means for locomotion across the ground.
[0015]More specifically, as used herein, an “unmanned ground vehicle” or “UGV” is a vehicle that operates while in contact with the ground and without an on-board human presence. Generally, the vehicle will have a set of sensors to observe the environment.
