A topical formulation comprising Montelukast or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, a gelling agent and water for the treatment of atopic dermatitis.

[0001]This application claims priority to the U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62 / 331,528 filed on May 4, 2016, the disclosure of which is incorporated by reference herein.BACKGROUND[0002]Atopic dermatitis is an increasingly common pruritic, chronic, inflammatory skin disorder. There has been a striking rise in the incidence of Atopic dermatitis (AD) during the past two decades, which is not simply due to an increased recognition of the disease. Population studies suggest that in most countries, AD now affects at least 10-20% of children at some point during childhood.
