The invention discloses a light-emitting diode (LED) backlight module of a side light source. The LED backlight module comprises a light guide plate and a reflective sheet, wherein the light guide plate is provided with a light entering plane and a light exiting plane, an LED light source is arranged on the side of the light entering plane. The reflective sheet is arranged below the light guide plate, a plurality of blank coatings or black and white color gradient coatings with preset distances among each other are formed on one side of the reflective sheet to lower the reflective light intensity of the light source. The width of the blank coatings or the black and white color gradient coatings is larger than that of the light emitting surface of the LED lights. According to the design of the mentioned scheme, the color coatings reaching the reflective sheet are mutually and correspondingly matched with the light LED lights. The color coatings absorb the light entering the reflective sheet, and therefore the uniformity of the light intensity of the emergent light of the backlight module is guaranteed. Further, when the pitches among the LEDs are too large, dark regions are prevented from emerging among the LEDs, and the abnormal optical phenomenon of uneven light and shade of the light guide plate is effectively improved.
