The PVC resin is modified with water-based toughening latex. The toughened PVC resin is characterized by being prepared with raw materials in parts by weight: 100 parts of PVC resin, 1-13 parts of toughening latex counted by solid content, 1-10 parts of release agent emulsion counted by solid content, 5-500 parts of flocculant solution counted by solution weight, 1-2 parts of liquid anti-aging agent counted by the weight percentage of the toughening latex, and 60-400 parts of deionized water. The invention provides the toughened PVC resin with high apparent density, wherein toughened and modified rubber particles are uniformly dispersed in the PVC resin. The invention also provides a preparation method of the toughened PVC resin with high apparent density with the advantages that the equipment is simple, the operation is convenient, the resin can be dried easily, and the production cost is low. The apparent density of the toughened PVC resin with different rubber contents can be more than or equal to 0.40g / mL.
