Abstract

The present invention discloses various embodiments of an eight-sub-pixel group, which may consist of three-color (red, green, blue) sub-pixels with one colored blue sub-pixel. In a group of eight sub-pixels, there are twice as many colored blue sub-pixels as there are red and green sub-pixels. The present invention also discloses various embodiments for performing subpixel shading on groups of subpixels.
