The method comprises the following steps that: a, one or more users register to a conference platform; b, one of the users requests for a teleconference with at least two other users towards the conference platform; c, the conference platform analyzes the media ability of the registered users and selects the user with enough media ability as the host of the teleconference; and d, after the command of the conference platform is received, the user selected as the host of the teleconference establishes the teleconference. The invention also relates to a system for realizing the method. The method and the system can provide a teleconference service by using a media resource of the user under the condition that the teleconference platform does not have the media resource.
