Abstract

The application relates to systems and methods for routing, monitoring repair, and maintenance of underground gas insulated transmission lines. An underground gas insulated transmission line (UGIL) system (140) is provided that includes a first compartment (58) having a gas insulated transmission line (10), a first camera slider (50) disposed on a wall (52) of the first compartment (58), a camera (148) moveably coupled to the camera slider (50), a global positioning system (GPS) receiver (144) disposed in the first compartment (58), and a gas sensor (146) disposed in the first compartment (58).
