The automatic vehicle call-for-help method comprises the following steps of: transmitting call-for-help information to a surrounding vehicle when the vehicle has an accident and is required to call for help, and waiting for the surrounding vehicle to response; transmitting information to a command center if the rescue response information of the surrounding vehicle is detected, notifying that the command center receives the rescue from the surrounding vehicle and forwarding the rescue response information of the rescue vehicle to the command center, so that the command center can track the real-time position of the rescue vehicle in real time, and rescue workers and vehicles are timely organized to meet with the rescue vehicle; and automatically transmitting a rescue request to the command center and entering a call queuing waiting state if the rescue response information of other vehicles is not received. The invention also discloses an automatic vehicle call-for-help system for realizing the method. Automatic contact and mutual rescue between vehicles, contact between the vehicle and the service center and the rescue are combined, so that the rescue time of a vehicle accident is greatly shortened.
